This year, we are taking advantage of the celebratory Christmas Picnic (to which you are all invited), by having it coincide with a Roller Hockey Day organised by the Catalan junior hockey coaches, who are eager to introduce this sport to any willing child, followed by a seniors exhibition match between Catalonia and Australia.

The Christmas picnic will proceed as usual. We will gather from 12, and commence with activities such as Christmas carols and “fer cagar el tio” from 1:30pm, as well as the raffle for a couple of hampers.

If you are interested in attending the hockey day, you must arrive a little bit early. The timetable is as follows:

10-11am- An introduction to roller hockey (with a brief talk and skating lesson for those who wish to learn)

11-11.30am - Youth match- Melbourne RHC vs Mordialloc RSC

11.45 am – 12.45 pm - Seniors exhibition match- CAT vs AUS

Once the Casal’s picnic activities have come to an end, the younger ones will once again have the opportunity to skate.

In order to adapt to this new activity, we have had to change the location to ALBERT PARK in South Melbourne, since it has facilities for this sport, as well as space for barbecues and room for the children to play. The exact location within the park is at the beginning of the Pit Lane in Aughtie Drive. The nearest entrance is through Lakeside Drive/Fitzroy Street in St. Kilda.

Awaiting everyone, big and small, is a day of raffles, games, “caga-tio”, sports and entertainment, and we hope, good weather. If you could please confirm the number of children who will be attending at casalcatalavictoria@gmail.com, or alternatively on 0403185891, so that we may feed “el tio”!
